David and Bathsheba -- 2 Samuel 11, 12

Today's lesson is on David and Bathsheba. This lesson has so many facets to it. I don't have an exciting activity or even a boring one planned. There is so much to talk about that we'll be doing a lot of discussion. We'll focus on David's sin this morning. I usually need to go ahead and finish the story because one of my students is never able to attend the Wednesday evening class. I don't want him always just hearing half of the story, I'll probably (especially if he is here this morning) go ahead and talk about Nathan and David and the subsequent death of the child.

Lesson Plan:

Review: Do a quick review of the Bible story using the timeline. Spend a little extra time on God's plan for marriage from the very beginning.

The lesson: Tell the story of David and Bathsheba

Sing: The First Three Kings -- This one isn't online yet. I'll try to add it in a couple of days.
We want a king

Wall of Faith: Let them take turns putting the name cards either on the wall of faith or in the pocket of shame.

Memory work: Read Psalm 23 together. I finally made an activity for this. If we have time we'll do it. It is a puzzle. Each strip of paper has a section of the Psalm written on it. When they get the strips of paper in order, they carefully turn them over. If they did it right, there will be a serene picture of sheep grazing in a calm field.

Sing: The Love of God

Worship Notes: Pass out new worship notes and encourage the kids to take notes.

Prayer: Have any students that would like to say a prayer.
