I just added some new items to my website. These attendance cards and coordinating stickers are great for the Bible class. They can be used to keep track of attendance or memory work. They can also be used as a reusable activity by adding some paper clips and magnets or using velcro. Click on the pictures below to go to the website and see all 12 of the card/sticker sets.

Since I'm taking a break from teaching, I've been spending some of my spare time updating my website. Last night I added 2 of Betty Lukens Felts sets. These are beautiful visual aids to help teaching the Bible to children. If you're interested, click on the picture above.
I have access to her other products, so if you know of something else you'd like, let me know. I hope to be adding the additional backgrounds and some of her felt books as well as some of the inspirational sets later.
If you're handy with a digital camera and the computer, you can make your own instruction sheets to use during class. The felts come with a manual, but I've found these pictured below to be so much easier to use. I first set, up the picture like I want it and take a picture. Then, upload it to the computer and using Printmaster (or another similar program), I make a "cheat sheet" that has a large color picture, the list of pieces with their numbers and the brief story.
Before class, I get all the pieces I'm going to use and the cheat sheet and stack them up in the order I'll need them. That way, during class, I'm not fumbling around for backgrounds and figures.
The cheat sheets below were used when we studied Daniel. We studied Daniel for a month. I didn't necessarily show all 5 scenes every class period. It just depended on our time and the mood of the kids. The lettering doesn't show up as well on these pictures as they do in real life, but I think you get the idea. If you'd like to see what else we did in that class you can check out my lesson plans here: Daniel Lesson Plans.
